The Butcher’s Table

Seattle chef Kurt Dammier was looking to launch a new kind of steakhouse, one that would immediately evoke heritage and luxury, but also reflect its contemporary location and clientele, near Amazon headquarters. I directed a team of designers from initial concepts through to the final identity, one based on craft, heritage, and mystery. A secret society backstory for butchers—reminiscent of the Masons—was written to inspire the graphic language of the identity and restaurant iconography, all designed to draw the consumer in deeper the more they experience the space.
